Personality Traits of Minor Attracted Persons

Dear Potential Research Participants:

I am a Clinical Psychology graduate student at Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana. I am currently completing my dissertation looking at personality traits of minor attracted persons. Data for this study will be collected through an anonymous online survey using the Qualtrics platform. Qualtrics is a secure platform which protects participant data by transforming your original responses into a different response when shared over the internet. This will ensure that your responses will only be read by the researcher.

Please consider participating in the study if you identify as an individual who is sexually attracted to anyone under the age of 18. Your participation in this study would be greatly appreciated and would provide valuable information that can further improve our understanding of personality traits among minor attracted persons.

If you would like more information about the study, please click on the link below. If you consent to participate in the study, completion of the survey will take approximately 25 minutes.

The project has received ethical approval from the Indiana State University Institutional Review Board.

We understand that confidentiality can be a great concern. As mentioned previously we will use a secure survey network which will not collect any personal or identifiable information such as your name and IP address; therefore, the risk to breach of confidentiality is low. Although every effort will be made to protect your answers, complete anonymity cannot be guaranteed over the Internet due to possible unintended data breaches by hacking or other activities outside of the procedures authorized by the study. Other potential risks of the study include uncomfortable feelings such as guilt and shame associated with the content of certain questions referring to sexual attraction and criminal history. We will only be asking about past offending.
